History student heals father's past in modern Cuba
Allison Rodriguez's father rarely spoke about leaving Cuba as a child as part of the secret Operation Pedro Pan. This past Interim she had the opportunity to explore her family history and become the first person in her extended family to travel to Cuba — against the wishes of some family members — since they fled the Castro regime.


McNair duo to showcase research at capitol
St. Olaf students Phoua Xiong '12 and Virginia Ma '12 will soon find themselves one step closer to graduate school by way of the Minnesota state capitol as they showcase the research they've conducted through the college's McNair Scholars Program.


College pastor elected bishop
On Saturday Ann Svennungsen, interim college pastor at St. Olaf, was elected bishop of the Minneapolis synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She is the first woman elected to lead the denomination's largest synod, and the first female bishop in Minnesota.
